This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive revenue, gross margin, conversion rates, and overall catalog performance.
• Lead e-commerce merchandising across various brand portfolios.
• Supervise Online Merchants, a Junior Online Merchant, and the Vendor Relations team.
• Establish brand performance expectations through weekly brand reviews, audits of PDP health and Content Health, assortment decisions, and ownership of the NPL content playbook.
• Monitor sales and profitability across the catalog; address underperforming brands and identify opportunities for assortment expansion.
• Collaborate with Site Merchandising to enhance brand pages, PLPs, PDPs, and the overall shopping experience.
• Work in partnership with Pricing and Promotions to optimize pricing strategies, promotions, and margin capture.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and Tech teams on campaign alignment, launch readiness, and site experience enhancements.
• Manage vendor relations and partner performance effectively.
• Lead negotiations for vendor programs, including rebates, co-op growth, allowance structures, and distribution reliance.
• Build and oversee vendor programs, encompassing enrollment criteria, activation standards, and QBR cadence.
• Develop and communicate the BBQGuys value proposition to brand partners.
• Ensure vendors meet MSA expectations, content standards, NPL timelines, promotional and pricing policies, as well as defective/warranty resolution standards.
• Manage vendor performance scorecards and monitor compliance, program effectiveness, and relationship health.
• Compile a prospective brand target list utilizing market intelligence, search demand, trade show insights, and supplier discussions.
• Gather competitor intelligence, observe category trends, analyze brand share data, and identify emerging brand opportunities.
• Lead a team of five direct reports, conducting performance reviews, development sessions, and growth discussions.
• Mentor two Online Merchants in leadership skills.
• Foster a high-accountability, growth-focused team culture.
• Present updates on progress, performance results, and strategic recommendations to the Senior Director and Executive team.
• Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–6 years of experience in e-commerce, retail buying, category management, or vendor/partner management.
• 4–6 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Background in a Director-level or senior individual contributor position with commercial accountability.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact assignments concurrently.
• Cultural alignment with transparency, accountability, urgency, and a growth mindset.
• Sound judgement and wisdom in negotiations and communications with external parties.
• Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including conversion rate optimization and P&L management.
• Proficient in e-commerce metrics such as conversion rate and marketing fundamentals.
• Advanced computer skills, including Excel, PowerBI, Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, and a willingness to learn internal programs.
• Exceptional analytical skills, including problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, conclusion drawing, and solution provision.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills, along with a collaborative team-player attitude.
• Proficient in reading and writing in English.
• Occasional travel for vendor meetings, trade shows, and company events.
