Director – Digital Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Build and expand cross-functional engineering teams.

• Foster a collaborative and high-accountability development culture.

• Define and articulate the vision for platform engineering.

• Convert business goals into a multi-year technical roadmap.

• Assess emerging technologies, including AI/ML tools, and incorporate them into the platform strategy.

• Lead the design and development of cloud-native, distributed applications.

• Implement best practices for event-driven architectures and microservices.

• Integrate LLM-driven features into production applications utilizing Azure OpenAI, prompt engineering, and RAG pipelines.

• Advocate for AI-assisted engineering methodologies and promote GitHub Copilot adoption.

• Ensure responsible AI implementation through governance, guardrails, and data privacy measures.

• Spearhead transformation projects and large-scale initiatives.

• Oversee multiple projects concurrently.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling cross-functional engineering teams.

• Capacity to establish and convey a clear vision for platform engineering along with a multi-year technical roadmap.

• Experience in evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, especially AI/ML tools.

• Extensive background in .NET and .NET Core up to .NET 8/9, with a deep understanding of C#.

• Proven experience in developing scalable front-end applications using React and TypeScript, particularly in component-based architecture and state management (Redux/Context API).

• Proficiency in Azure cloud services, including App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, and Azure Storage.

• Background in leading cloud-native, distributed applications utilizing event-driven and microservices best practices.

• Strong knowledge of Azure security protocols, including Entra ID, access control, and data protection.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Experience with SQL Server and Cosmos DB.

• Strong understanding of RESTful services and API design principles.

• Expertise in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing Azure applications for performance and cost-effectiveness.

• Experience in integrating LLM-powered features with Azure OpenAI, prompt engineering, and RAG pipelines.

• Proven capability in championing AI-assisted engineering practices, including the adoption of GitHub Copilot.

• Understanding of responsible AI principles, including governance, guardrails, and data privacy considerations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience in leading and managing transformation projects and teams.

• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.

• Over 10 years of experience in Engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation initiatives.
