Director, Deployment – SAP S/4HANA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the deployment of Fresenius Kabi’s ELEVATE Global Template and SAP S/4HANA implementation across the United States.

• Provide global leadership and governance for standardized business processes, systems, and operational models.

• Formulate the deployment strategy and supervise planning, localization, testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition to sustained operations.

• Serve as the primary connection between global program leadership and country execution teams.

• Establish frameworks for deployment governance, conduct readiness assessments, create escalation pathways, implement quality controls, and monitor performance.

• Drive organizational readiness, training initiatives, communication efforts, risk mitigation strategies, and contingency planning.

• Lead collaborative efforts across various teams, including process owners, IT, validation, data migration, testing, integration, and change management.

• Oversee data migration processes, integrations, security and authorization models, testing cycles, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live readiness evaluations.

• Direct enterprise cutover planning, command-center operations, issue resolution, and make go/no-go recommendations.

• Provide executive leadership throughout hypercare and stabilization phases, ensuring business continuity, knowledge transfer, and transition to support organizations.

• Manage deployment risks, issues, dependencies, and scope impacts, while reporting to program leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Enhance deployment methodologies, governance processes, tools, templates, and best practices.

• Champion program communications, engagement initiatives, and culture-building activities.

• Mentor local and country deployment resources.

• Ensure compliance with audit, validation, regulatory requirements, and documentation controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, business informatics, IT management, industrial engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 12 years of experience in ERP delivery, deployment management, or transformation leadership within complex enterprise environments.

• Proven track record with SAP S/4HANA or significant SAP ERP rollouts, particularly in multi-country, multi-site, or multi-business scenarios.

• Strong knowledge of SAP landscape components, core S/4HANA processes/modules, data migration, testing, integrations, extensions, authorizations, and cutover concepts.

• Experience in the Pharma/Life Sciences sector or another regulated/validated industry is required.

• Familiarity with GxP, validation, quality gates, and audit expectations is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated capability to lead business readiness, UAT, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition to business-as-usual operations.

• Experience with SAP Activate and agile/hybrid delivery models is preferred.

• PMP, PRINCE2, SAP certification, or equivalent program/deployment certification is advantageous.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Willingness to travel as needed for rollouts, including during critical cutover and go-live phases.

• International travel of 35%, occasionally lasting 1–2 months in a specific country.
