This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the commercial data strategy, ensuring alignment with brand goals, launch readiness timelines, and the commercialization framework.
• Develop a phased roadmap for data acquisition, warehouse architecture, integration, governance, reporting, and advanced analytics.
• Identify and prioritize valuable use cases such as segmentation and targeting, omnichannel engagement, field force effectiveness, patient journey analytics, demand forecasting, payer analytics, and executive performance management.
• Oversee daily commercial data operations across external partner ecosystems, including file intake, exception management, and performance against service levels.
• Manage the acquisition, integration, validation, and ongoing administration of HCP, HCO, patient, claims, prescription, payer, field activity, and third-party syndicated data.
• Design and execute a commercial master data management strategy that includes identity management, affiliations, alignment, hierarchy, stewardship, and match/merge protocols.
• Integrate master data management with CRM, field reporting, and downstream analytics processes.
• Establish data governance practices, stewardship, metadata management, lineage tracking, access control, privacy measures, and quality assurance procedures.
• Create a commercial analytics and reporting framework incorporating launch KPIs, metric definitions, refresh schedules, report ownership, and dashboard governance.
• Lead assessments on build-versus-buy decisions across the commercial data landscape.
• Transform complex data into insights, executive-ready narratives, and materials for decision support.
• Act as the internal expert and decision-maker for commercial data strategy and operations.
• Recruit, develop, and manage a data and analytics team as the organization expands.
• Collaborate with various departments including Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical, Finance, Legal/Compliance, IT, and external vendors.
• Develop scalable processes and operating rhythms while overseeing the commercial data budget.
• Manage relationships with data vendors, consultants, and partners, including handling requirements, onboarding, service levels, issue resolution, renewals, budget tracking, and value realization.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a quantitative field, business, technology, or life sciences.
• Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors, with significant time spent in commercial data strategy, commercial operations, analytics, data management, or launch-readiness roles.
• Proven experience in building commercial data capabilities for at least one U.S. specialty pharmaceutical or biotech launch.
• Expertise in data sourcing, vendor integration, master data management, governance, launch KPI definition, and executive reporting.
• Previous Director-level responsibility for commercial data strategy.
• Experience leading cross-functional decision-making forums, managing vendor performance, and influencing senior stakeholders in commercial, medical, finance, compliance, and technology areas.
• Practical experience in defining requirements for and overseeing the delivery of CRM, commercial data warehousing, business intelligence, field reporting, and MDM platforms.
• Familiarity with integrations, user adoption, and vendor performance.
• In-depth knowledge of prescription, claims, specialty pharmacy, hub, specialty distributor, payer, CRM, HCP/HCO reference, patient services, and field activity data.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations, de-identified patient data, permissible-use restrictions on prescription and claims data, aggregate spend and transparency reporting, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Technical fluency in data models, integration patterns, and cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL is preferred.
• Ability to develop efficient processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while balancing scalability, compliance, cost management, and speed to impact.
• Strong executive presence and communication abilities.
• Capacity to frame strategic decisions, clarify trade-offs, and translate technical data concepts into business implications.
