Director, Corporate EHS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee EHS professionals at the corporate level while fostering a proactive mindset toward identifying and mitigating environmental, health, and safety hazards.

• Collaborate with EHS executives, corporate EHS directors, regional EHS managers, operational teams, and leaders.

• Establish and ensure compliance with relevant federal and state EHS regulations.

• Guarantee consistent implementation of company EHS programs.

• Assess risks and implement programs aimed at preventing injuries and illnesses while ensuring environmental compliance.

• Work alongside operations to create safe and environmentally responsible workplace solutions.

• Develop and execute corporate EHS policies, programs, and training materials.

• Engage in corporate training sessions and business meetings.

• Prepare facilities for corporate and external audits and address audit findings.

• Lead and participate in corporate audit teams.

• Coordinate medical management and workers’ compensation procedures and protocols.

• Assist operations with workers’ compensation claims and cost reduction strategies.

• Guide Senior Regional Managers in their development, coaching, and leadership.

• Support EHS systems and programs, including databases, risk mitigation, audits, ergonomics, EHS technologies, SDS approval systems, rules tracking, fire systems, workers’ compensation, training, and EHS alerts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in environmental, safety, health, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

• At least 5 years of leadership experience, including team development and management, is required.

• Capability to make strategic decisions in high-pressure situations, including leading emergency response efforts.

• Willingness and ability to travel to other locations up to 50% of the time based on initiatives.

• Proficiency in managing multiple projects and deliverables with focus and efficiency.

• Ability to interpret, design, and effectively communicate key EHS data to internal stakeholders to drive results.

• Skill in planning and executing EHS systems and programs in collaboration with operations.

• Comprehensive knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations as well as workers’ compensation processes.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient presentation skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and EHS database systems such as Cority.

• Experience with PSM/RMP is a plus.

• Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
