This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Direct, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of the Strategic Account Management team.
• Set priorities, define performance expectations, and ensure accountability for profitable sales growth and market share enhancement.
• Formulate and implement strategies for key distribution accounts.
• Oversee comprehensive strategic account plans that encompass growth opportunities, profitability goals, product focus, competitive challenges, and execution requirements.
• Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with key customers.
• Lead significant customer negotiations, corporate agreements, pricing strategies, and business reviews.
• Collaborate with field sales leadership to translate corporate account strategies into actionable plans at the regional, district, and branch levels.
• Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships, enhance product penetration, fortify market standing, and foster sustainable growth.
• Work closely with Pricing, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service.
• Leverage customer insights, financial performance data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to shape account strategies.
• Track account performance and business metrics, including KPIs, profitability, and growth targets.
• Advocate for a customer-centric, performance-oriented culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline is required.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in sales, strategic account management, commercial leadership, or a related field.
• Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
• Demonstrated success in managing large, intricate, multi-location or distribution-based customer relationships while achieving profitable revenue growth.
• Established ability to develop and execute strategic account plans that convert business opportunities into tangible commercial outcomes.
• Strong business and financial acumen, with skills in assessing pricing, profitability, market dynamics, and customer opportunities.
• Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Experience in influencing senior-level internal and external stakeholders.
• Capacity to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across various functions and organizational levels.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive-level relationship-building abilities.
• Experience in building materials, manufacturing, construction products, or the distribution industry is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel by air and car as necessary.
