This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Take full ownership of Cogent's content engine from start to finish, managing the calendar and developing content series primarily for LinkedIn, blogs, videos, and long-form articles.
β’ Oversee SEO and AEO to ensure content is easily discoverable by both potential buyers and AI models.
β’ Link content efforts to the sales pipeline and monitor which pieces contribute to closing deals.
β’ Create blog posts, ebooks, and whitepapers aimed at the top and middle of the sales funnel.
β’ Develop and execute the social media strategy, ensuring a consistent delivery of Cogent's perspectives.
β’ Ghostwrite for the CEO, CTO, and other technical leaders.
β’ Establish systems to capture interviews with leaders, Slack content, call notes, and research briefs.
β’ Transform source materials into thought leadership pieces for security professionals.
β’ Convert Cogent Research, threat findings, and product insights into unique analytical content.
β’ Lead the flagship research report and collaborate with the research team and CTO on related initiatives.
β’ Respond promptly to breaking news in the security sector with timely point-of-view content.
β’ Integrate AI throughout the workflow and coordinate contractors and tools effectively.
β’ Create and maintain a shared archive of positioning documents, proof points, and research materials.
β’ 8-10+ years of experience in content roles within B2B technology, with a strong preference for cybersecurity.
β’ A proven history of producing content that drives tangible results: content-sourced pipeline, organic traffic and rankings, and engagement that leads to meetings.
β’ Experience working in a small company as the primary content driver, consistently delivering weekly outputs without extensive team support or budget.
β’ Exceptional writing and editorial judgment, with the ability to articulate a point of view and simplify complex security topics credibly.
β’ Demonstrated experience in ghostwriting for executives, with a methodology for capturing their unique voice.
β’ Proficient in utilizing AI within practical content workflows.
β’ Experience in packaging research such as threat reports, benchmarks, and original analyses (preferred but not mandatory).
β’ Familiarity with running SEO initiatives via agencies or contractors, along with an informed perspective on AEO (preferred but not mandatory).
β’ Production capabilities beyond writing, including short videos, explainers, or visual assets, or the discernment to direct contractors (preferred but not mandatory).
β’ Knowledge of vulnerability management, exposure management, or related areas in AppSec/CloudSec (preferred but not mandatory).
