This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
β’ Take ownership of the roadmap for Clio's German legal content, establishing goals for completeness, update speed, enrichment depth, and reliability.
β’ Achieve or exceed coverage, currency, and quality standards set by beck-online, Wolters Kluwer Germany, and juris.
β’ Enhance win rates, trust, and retention, linking these improvements to revenue generated from German content.
β’ Identify gaps in German case law and legislation, prioritizing each gap based on legal significance, customer demand, competitive risk, and repair costs.
β’ Lead decisions on building, buying, and licensing in collaboration with Licensing, Legal, and Corporate Development.
β’ Manage a prioritized backlog with Content Ops and Engineering, and facilitate the transition to Iceberg.
β’ Develop robust pipelines, minimize fragile third-party connections and manual processes, and establish standards for monitoring, fault tolerance, and recovery.
β’ Collaborate with German Editorial and Ops teams to enhance case law and legislative metadata, including citations, amendments, case summaries, and hierarchy.
β’ Integrate editorial review with AI tools to improve content discovery and downstream AI applications.
β’ Partner with Finance and FP&A regarding German content expenditures and create dashboards for cost per document, ingestion speed, coverage parity, and enrichment reach.
β’ Report on roadmap progress, risks, and business impact to the Content Committee quarterly.
β’ Assess Clio's German coverage against regional competitors and monitor new AI and NLP techniques for legal text processing.
β’ Establish partnerships with courts, publishers, and open-data organizations.
β’ Educate Product, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams about Clio's German content and maintain the German Legal Materials Reference Guide.
β’ Provide guidance on enterprise deals that necessitate in-depth knowledge of German legal content and assist Product Marketing and Sales Enablement.
β’ 7 to 10 years of experience in legal publishing, legal data management, or content and product management, with a proven track record of overseeing a content portfolio from inception to completion.
β’ In-depth understanding of the German legal system and legal publishing landscape, including the criteria for authority and currency.
β’ Practical experience working with German case law and legislation for legal research or practice platforms.
β’ Proven ability to set strategy and take ownership of outcomes at a senior or staff level, rather than merely managing projects.
β’ Strong product ownership capabilities and the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct reports.
β’ Prioritization skills grounded in actual metrics and ROI calculations.
β’ Technical proficiency with ETL pipelines, ingestion systems, and metadata frameworks.
β’ Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
β’ A history of establishing standards that other teams adhere to.
