Director, Community Hub Construction – Facilities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the comprehensive development and construction strategy for new FIGS Community Hubs.

• Supervise renovations, alterations, and capital enhancements to current locations.

• Balance strategic business planning for a 2–5 year horizon with daily operational execution.

• Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, and timelines from lease signing to store opening.

• Assist in evaluating the feasibility of potential sites.

• Collaborate with the Creative and Community Hub teams on architectural designs and construction documents.

• Select, negotiate, and manage architects, engineers, product vendors, and general contractors.

• Ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory approvals.

• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, timelines, and budget adherence.

• Provide continuous updates on construction status, costs, and schedules.

• Maintain quality standards across all projects.

• Build and lead a team of direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12+ years of experience in construction project management, retail development, or a related area.

• A Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven track record in leading complex construction and development initiatives across multiple locations and regions, preferably within a growing retail or consumer-oriented organization.

• Experience in balancing long-term strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

• Leadership experience, including direct management of internal teams and the capability to build and nurture high-performing groups.

• Outstanding organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.

• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices, permitting procedures, building regulations, and scheduling.

• Ability to interpret architectural plans, construction documents, and technical specifications.

• Solid understanding of HVAC system design, operation, and maintenance.

• Capability to manage multiple projects across diverse locations simultaneously.

• Must be willing to travel frequently.
