Director, College Advancement – South

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and expertise to the South regions regarding college access, persistence, and completion strategies.

• Propel yearly increases in BA/BS enrollment, enrollment across all pathways, and anticipated college completion rates.

• Manage a portfolio encompassing 2 regions, 15–17 high schools, and around 1,500–1,800 seniors.

• Spearhead network-wide initiatives aimed at boosting college enrollment, including the fall college enrollment verification campaign.

• Implement and consistently enhance College and Career Readiness and Access across high schools and regions.

• Guide college and career planning processes, including exposure, applications, personal statements, and postsecondary pathways.

• Ensure high-quality execution of college and career seminars while supporting school teams in achieving Match, Counseling, and Enrollment outcomes.

• Mentor and coach Regional Directors and High School Directors.

• Provide focused, data-informed feedback and facilitate professional development for regional personnel.

• Track enrollment, matriculation, and projected college completion data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.

• Promote enhancements in optimal college placement, Early Decision participation, and successful enrollment in postsecondary pathways.

• Support tailored interventions for regions, schools, and students to encourage equity in access, persistence, and completion.

• Create, maintain, and distribute college and career preparation tools, resources, and guidance.

• Lead or oversee initiatives aimed at improving student engagement, application completion, and college readiness.

• Coordinate logistics, communications, and operations for events, professional development, and network gatherings.

• Collaborate with K-8 and high school teams to align regional strategies with the broader KIPP network.

• Refine and implement the College Advancement strategy regionally.

• Work alongside network teams on counseling, match, and college access efforts.

• Travel up to 30% to partner institutions, KIPP regions, or staff meetings.

• Report directly to the Vice President of College Advancement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in college access, college counseling, postsecondary advising, or a similar field.

• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

• Preferred Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field.

• Proven experience in leading, coaching, or managing adult professionals.

• Established record of achieving measurable student outcomes, particularly in college enrollment, matriculation, or persistence.

• Experience in designing and executing curriculum, interventions, or programs that facilitate postsecondary success.

• Background in managing multi-site programs or portfolios, including data-informed decision-making and resource allocation.

• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners at scale.

• Preferred experience with networked or multi-school educational organizations, such as KIPP, charter school networks, or similar contexts.

• Preferred experience with college readiness and college access campaigns in Texas and/or Oklahoma.

• Demonstrated passion and commitment to KIPP’s mission and core values.

• Capable of setting ambitious goals, managing work effectively, making data-informed decisions, solving problems, collaborating, and conveying complex information clearly.
