Director, Capital Markets Product Control

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Oversee one or more Capital Markets Product Control areas of focus

• Guarantee the integrity and precision of the P&L and PAA processes

• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, which includes accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial attestations

• Adhere to accounting policies and best practices

• Conduct complex analyses and investigations

• Recognize and implement enhancements in processes and controls

• Ensure operational accounting readiness for new products, accounting modifications, and system implementations or upgrades

• Engage in change initiatives by gathering requirements, designing processes, testing systems, and conducting post-implementation reviews

• Collaborate with Front Office, Finance, Risk and Controls, Trade Support, Project Delivery, Technology, and Operations

• Utilize AI to enhance processes and drive efficiencies

• Direct daily Trader P&L and PAA reconciliation and reporting

• Manage end-to-end accounting support from source sub-ledgers to entity general ledgers

• Oversee daily and monthly P&L reconciliations and secure Trader signoffs

• Administer month-end and quarterly reconciliations from source systems to the general ledger

• Supervise monthly attestation processes for CM Product Operations Accounting accounts

• Set the team's direction, define responsibilities, and identify training and learning needs

• Manage staff performance and foster diverse talent development

• Enhance data lineage and operational processes

• Lead initiatives in risk, control, change management, and continuous improvement

• Build and maintain both internal and external industry relationships

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5-10 years of experience within the financial services industry, specifically in capital markets, product control, and associated regulatory, control, and operational environments

• An accounting designation (CA, CPA) or over 10 years of relevant experience is mandatory

• CFA designation is considered advantageous

• Familiarity with US and IFRS accounting standards, including audit practices and financial reporting processes

• Extensive knowledge of Capital Markets Products and Services

• General understanding of Capital Market Product and Financial Reporting systems

• Solid comprehension of Capital Markets Product Operations business, services, and structure

• Knowledge of systems such as Imagine, ADP (BPS), ICI (Impact), Calypso, SwapOne, Global One, Essbase/Smartview, and S4 Hanna GL is a plus

• Skills in team leadership, business acumen, technical proficiency, AI integration, operational excellence, communication, relationship management, change management, influence and negotiation, and people management

• Proficient computer skills, particularly strong knowledge of Excel and VBA
