Director, Capital Markets Product Control

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Oversee one or more focus areas within Capital Markets Product Control.

• Guarantee the integrity and precision of P&L, PAA, and general ledger operations.

• Initiate or review accounting entries, perform reconciliations, and provide financial attestations.

• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and best practices.

• Conduct complex analyses and investigations.

• Identify and execute process and control enhancements.

• Ensure operational accounting preparedness for new products, accounting modifications, and system implementations or upgrades.

• Engage in change initiatives, including gathering requirements, designing processes, performing system testing, and conducting post-implementation reviews.

• Collaborate with Front Office, Finance, Risk and Controls, Trade Support, Project Delivery, Technology, and Operations.

• Utilize AI to enhance processes and drive efficiencies.

• Manage daily and monthly Trader P&L and PAA reconciliations and secure Trader signoffs.

• Provide comprehensive accounting support from source sub-ledgers to entity general ledgers.

• Oversee the SOX control environment, month-end and quarterly reconciliations, as well as monthly account attestations.

• Lead and develop a specialized team, including setting directions, fostering development, managing performance, and promoting talent growth.

• Enhance data lineage and operational workflows.

• Spearhead risk, control, change management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder relationship initiatives.

• Support Capital Markets across Canada, the US, London, Ireland, and Asia.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 5–10 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically within capital markets, product control, and related regulatory, control, and operational environments.

• An accounting designation (CA, CPA) or over 10 years of relevant experience is mandatory.

• CFA designation is considered a plus.

• Familiarity with US and IFRS accounting standards, audit practices, financial reporting processes, and industry norms.

• Comprehensive understanding of Capital Markets Products and Services.

• General knowledge of Capital Market Product and Financial Reporting systems.

• Strong understanding of the Capital Markets Product Operations business, services, and organizational structure.

• Proficient computer skills, particularly with Excel and VBA.

• Skills in team leadership, business acumen, technical expertise, AI, operational excellence, communication, relationship management, change management, influence and negotiation, and people management.

• Familiarity with systems like Imagine, ADP (BPS), ICI (Impact), Calypso, SwapOne, Global One, Essbase/Smartview, and S4 Hanna GL is an asset.
