Director, Business Systems – Solution Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the principal solution architect and a senior functional/technical contributor for D365 F&O and related enterprise platforms.

• Take ownership of solution design from the requirements phase through architecture, configuration, development oversight, testing, deployment, stabilization, and ongoing support.

• Spearhead the resolution of production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, identify process gaps, integration failures, and performance issues.

• Create solution alternatives, document trade-offs, and recommend strategies that align with business goals, security measures, controls, and long-term maintainability.

• Evaluate functional and technical designs, extensions, integrations, data models, and release schedules.

• Manage Order to Cash processes, which encompass customer setup, pricing, sales orders, inventory availability, fulfillment, shipping, invoicing, returns, credit processes, and financial integration.

• Direct D365 F&O processes across supply chain, distribution, and order fulfillment.

• Lead and assist with D365 Advanced Warehouse Management and the Warehouse Management mobile application.

• Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, eCommerce, and Customer Service to enhance processes, drive adoption, ensure data quality, and improve operational visibility.

• Maintain the target enterprise architecture, focusing on application boundaries, integration patterns, master data ownership, security, and support responsibilities.

• Supervise integrations among D365 F&O, eCommerce, warehouse, EDI, product information, analytics, financial planning, HR, and other related platforms.

• Set standards for documentation, environment management, release governance, monitoring, data migration, and production support.

• Lead internal team members, implementation partners, consultants, and managed service providers while actively engaging in delivery.

• Forge relationships with business leaders, serving as the accountable contact for system priorities, risks, and decisions.

• Oversee the Business Systems roadmap, manage demand intake, prioritize tasks, ensure delivery commitments, evaluate vendor performance, and provide budget inputs along with operational support.

• Mentor team members and foster ownership across applications and business processes.

• Guarantee adherence to cybersecurity, access control, audit, change management, and data governance mandates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience delivering and supporting enterprise business applications, with substantial hands-on D365 F&O experience.

• More than 5 years in roles focused on solution architecture, technical leadership, or business systems leadership.

• Proven expertise in D365 F&O Order to Cash processes and integration with inventory, warehouse, transportation, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.

• Strong background in D365 Advanced Warehouse Management and the Warehouse Management mobile application.

• Experience in designing and supporting enterprise integrations, APIs, data migration, batch processing, monitoring, and exception handling.

• Capable of interpreting and challenging functional and technical designs, comprehending extension patterns, and working effectively with X++, Azure, Power Platform, SQL, data entities, and integration technologies.

• Proficient in translating business requirements into actionable solution architecture and leading delivery through implementation and production support.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: experience in consumer products, wholesale distribution, retail, eCommerce, manufacturing, or similarly intricate order fulfillment environments.

• Preferred: Microsoft certifications related to D365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Solution Architecture, Power Platform, or Azure.

• Preferred: experience with Power BI or Microsoft Fabric.

• Preferred: experience in leading application modernization, platform consolidation, or significant ERP transformation initiatives.

• Preferred: familiarity with IT governance, cybersecurity, audit controls, segregation of duties, and change management.
