Director, Billing and Revenue Cycle Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and supervise a billing team of 10-15 individuals in the home care sector.

• Manage the preparation and submission of Medicaid and Managed Care claims.

• Resolve issues related to claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and overpayments.

• Refile claims as necessary.

• Design and implement training programs for billing staff.

• Collaborate with payroll, client-facing teams, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).

• Work with IT to troubleshoot system-related issues and create technical billing solutions.

• Monitor billing performance to ensure that collection goals are achieved.

• Guarantee that billing is completed accurately and punctually each month.

• Reconcile billing accounts with the general ledger.

• Ensure billing records are aligned with financial statements.

• Document and formalize billing procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

• Analyze billing data and utilize Excel to generate actionable management insights.

• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA standards.

• Stay updated on Medicaid policies.

• Provide leadership for staff development and cultivate a high-performance culture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue cycle management.

• Over 5 years of experience with Medicaid billing and Managed Care programs, particularly in the home care sector is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in managing a billing team of 10-15 staff members.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and other formulas.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid portals and EDI claims systems.

• Familiarity with 837, 835, 276, 277, 834, 270, 271, and 999 file formats.

• Strong background in reconciliation processes and general ledger alignment.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with payroll, client-facing, and IT departments.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for addressing billing discrepancies and system issues.

• Skills in training and development.

• Experience in documenting and formalizing procedures.

• Capability to work independently and manage a remote team.

• Previous experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software is advantageous.

• Understanding of Medicaid policies and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
