This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
• Lead and supervise a billing team comprising 10–15 individuals within the home care sector.
• Manage the preparation and submission of Medicaid and Managed Care claims.
• Resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and overpayments; resubmit claims as necessary.
• Create and implement training programs for the billing team.
• Collaborate with payroll, client-facing teams, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and other cross-functional departments.
• Work with IT to address system issues and develop technical solutions for billing.
• Track billing performance and collections objectives.
• Reconcile billing accounts with the general ledger and ensure billing records align with financial statements.
• Document and standardize billing processes for improved efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Analyze billing data and deliver actionable insights utilizing Excel.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
• Foster staff development and cultivate a high-performance culture centered on accuracy, customer service, and team advancement.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue cycle management.
• Over 5 years of experience in Medicaid billing and Managed Care programs, particularly within the home care industry is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 10–15 billing personnel.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and various formulas.
• Comprehensive understanding of Medicaid portals and EDI claims systems, including 837, 835, 276, 277, 834, 270, 271, and 999 files.
• Strong background in reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with billing, payments, and aligning general ledger entries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with payroll, client-facing, and IT teams.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities related to billing discrepancies and system challenges.
• Skills in training and development.
• Experience in documenting and formalizing operational procedures.
• Capacity to work independently and manage a remote team.
• Experience with NetSuite or comparable accounting software is advantageous.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
