Director, AWS Infrastructure, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategy, architecture, implementation, administration, and daily operations of AWS infrastructure and cloud services.

• Design, construct, and sustain secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud environments.

• Execute and uphold infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.

• Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards across networking, computing, storage, databases, identity, and access management.

• Drive infrastructure modernization, automation, and optimization initiatives.

• Create, develop, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for application development, testing, security scanning, and production deployment.

• Set and implement DevOps standards, tools, processes, and engineering practices across development teams.

• Manage release and deployment processes throughout development, staging, and production environments, including automation, coordination, validation, and rollback procedures.

• Oversee administration, governance, and lifecycle management of the SaaS technology ecosystem.

• Handle SaaS provisioning, user onboarding/offboarding, roles, permissions, access reviews, and licenses.

• Monitor cloud infrastructure costs, forecast resource utilization, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement infrastructure and DevOps security controls and practices.

• Establish controls for IAM, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability management, logging, and infrastructure security.

• Assist with security audits, compliance assessments, customer security reviews, and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor infrastructure and application environments, troubleshoot production and deployment issues, and lead root-cause analysis and remediation.

• Assess infrastructure, DevOps tools, and operational practices to enhance reliability, security, developer experience, and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of practical experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, DevOps, or related technology fields, demonstrating ownership of production environments.

• Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure and services.

• Experience with scripting and automation using Python or TypeScript.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.

• Background in release and deployment management, including automation, production releases, rollback procedures, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability management, and audit controls.

• Experience in SaaS administration, user provisioning, access management, and lifecycle management.

• Expertise in cloud infrastructure cost management and optimization.

• Capability to design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot production systems.

• Willingness to support off-business-hours deployments and releases as needed.

• Preferred AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer.
