This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise and direct all activities of the Automation & Controls team
• Work in partnership with engineering to promote ongoing innovation and enhancement
• Contribute strategic insights to the 3- and 5-year manufacturing capital plans
• Provide continuous operational support for production facilities
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, and R&D
• Uphold machine standards in coordination with customers, vendors, and engineering machine builders
• Oversee capitalized projects, budget creation, financial reporting, and software deployment
• Manage engineering practices and applications throughout the Automation & Controls team
• Address issues related to controls-system obsolescence and implement process enhancements
• Establish priorities and manage project execution from inception to deployment
• Ensure that controls-system documentation is up-to-date
• Lead and assist departmental teams in a cooperative, customer-service-focused environment
• Encourage ongoing education and the adoption of new technologies to enhance manufacturing processes
• Advocate for machine health and personal safety while ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards
• Supervise 4 or more direct reports
• Travel is required for approximately 60%
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
• Over 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
• Proven experience in leading Automation & Controls projects across various manufacturing sites
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team both directly and indirectly
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop robust partnerships
• Familiarity with computer-assisted design tools
• Knowledge of human-machine interface development
• Experience with programmable logic controllers
• Proficient in G-Suite applications
• Knowledgeable in advanced diagnostic tools
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer-sponsored visa (work permit)
