This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Deliver strategic and tactical regulatory guidance and support for the review and approval of product, pipeline, and disease-state communications.
• Assist in the development of promotional and non-promotional materials in collaboration with stakeholders from Commercial, Medical, Corporate Communications, and Public Affairs.
• Act as a Regulatory reviewer on the Communications Review Committee and the Medical Review Committee.
• Represent Global Regulatory Affairs Advertising and Promotion in program and cross-functional teams.
• Chair designated Communications Review Committee meetings and guide stakeholders towards achieving consensus.
• Evaluate regulatory contexts and interpret relevant guidance, regulations, and precedents.
• Support submissions of materials to Health Authorities and engage with them as necessary.
• Direct promotional considerations for development products.
• Ensure that product-labeling changes are accurately represented in promotional materials.
• Lead the development and updates of procedures and guidelines for the Communications Review Committee.
• Monitor and interpret regulations related to advertising and promotion to ensure compliant marketing practices.
• Evaluate the regulatory impacts on Vertex’s business and its stakeholders.
• Conduct training sessions for stakeholders as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant or scientific discipline, or a related field.
• Typically requires 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High level of applied knowledge regarding Health Authority codes, laws, regulations, guidance, and industry standards pertinent to advertising and promotional communications.
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical study design and statistical analyses for the evaluation of promotional claims.
• Familiarity with labeling regulations and the global promotional review process.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory advertising and promotion, including the management of launch campaigns and interaction with Health Authorities.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, project management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead, influence, resolve conflicts, and foster consensus across diverse cultures and disciplines.
• Aptitude for adopting and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools.
