Direct Bill Triage Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist agencies during the post-conversion phase and facilitate their adoption of Patriot's direct billing processes and protocols.

• Conduct regular meetings and check-ins with agency personnel.

• Review pending action items, respond to inquiries, and promote process adoption.

• Identify and address any gaps, errors, and breakdowns related to the conversion process.

• Oversee and reconcile direct bill transactions for newly transitioned agencies.

• Ensure accurate posting of commissions to client accounts and the general ledger.

• Provide training and create job aids on commission processing software, agency management systems, and direct billing procedures.

• Collaborate with carrier relations and Operational Design Authority teams regarding banking, statement delivery, and reconciliation processes.

• Report conversion updates, risks, and unresolved issues to leadership.

• Improve conversion playbooks, training resources, and implementation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• In-depth knowledge of the insurance brokerage sector, billing processes, and relevant industry regulations.

• Familiarity with insurance agency management systems, ideally EPIC and BenefitPoint.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including filtering, formulas, pivot tables, and analysis of large data sets.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information pertaining to employees, clients, and the company.

• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience in a property and casualty insurance brokerage setting.

• Experience in supporting agency conversions, system implementations, or extensive process transitions.

• Knowledge of Ascend, Comulate, or similar commission processing platforms.

• Experience in training and coaching to facilitate process adoption and operational changes.

• Experience in reconciling high-volume direct bill and commission transactions.
