DevOps Engineer – Mid-Tier

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Support the development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of tools and environments within cloud-hosted infrastructure.

• Assist in software releases, infrastructure management, inventory oversight, installations, configurations, and connectivity.

• Monitor and enhance system performance utilizing Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, and the ELK Stack.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to enhance deployment workflows and ensure system reliability.

• Incorporate security best practices into pipelines and infrastructure via DevSecOps methodologies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments.

• Maintain and modernize legacy systems by leveraging cloud-native services and automation techniques.

• Design, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Cloud Build, and Harness.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration processes utilizing Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.

• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, OpenShift, GKE, and Cloud Run (Knative).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related discipline, or FOUR (4) years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government clearance.

• A minimum of SEVEN (7) years of industry experience with a focus on DevOps.

• Experience in a DevOps environment supporting multiple teams and applications.

• Proficient in deploying and troubleshooting Java-based application stacks, including NGINX, Apache HTTPD, JAVA JDK, Apache Tomcat, and PostgreSQL.

• Strong understanding of application network configurations, including Reverse Proxy, TLS Certificates, DNS, Load Balancers, Routers, and Firewalls.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab, and Harness is preferred.

• Hands-on experience in deploying applications to Google Cloud and/or Kubernetes, including OpenShift, GKE, or EKS.

• Proficient with infrastructure and deployment automation tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, YAML, ArgoCD, and Helm.

• Skilled in Git source control, including Git, GitLab, and Bitbucket, with experience in branching and merge requests.

• Experience with Linux (RHEL 8+).

• Familiarity with Windows Server (2016+).

• Experience using Datadog, Splunk, Google Logging and Monitoring, or similar tools.

• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Java, along with API usage.

• Federal government experience is a plus.

• Experience deploying AI agentic applications is a plus.

• Experience implementing AIOps automation is a plus.

• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Gemini for development and QA is a plus.

• Familiarity with DevSecOps and GitOps best practices is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• A passion for learning and implementing new technologies.

• A team-oriented mindset consistent with DevOps culture.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
