DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Engage comprehensively in all features related to Upwind’s infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and product functionalities.

• Assist in the design of product architecture and infrastructure.

• Assess and adopt new cloud technologies and open-source tools to enhance product delivery and availability.

• Expand developer experience and infrastructure initiatives.

• Guarantee the stable and scalable execution of product feature infrastructure.

• Oversee and sustain production infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps engineer within a high-scale distributed production system, operating in a Linux environment.

• Practical experience with containerized environments, particularly Kubernetes and its open-source ecosystem.

• Experience in maintaining and scaling database and queuing infrastructures, including technologies like Elasticsearch, MySQL, Neo4j, Postgres/TimescaleDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, or similar.

• Significant experience working in cloud environments within a production context.

• An automation mindset with the capability to streamline manual processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of build/release systems and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with infrastructure as code in production settings, utilizing tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or CDK.

• Proven hands-on experience with the Helm templating language.

• Proficiency in scripting/programming with Python, Bash, or Go.

• Ability to rapidly learn and apply cutting-edge technologies.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Deep knowledge of the Prometheus monitoring stack, Grafana, AlertManager, or VictoriaMetrics (preferred).

• Practical experience with various cloud vendors (preferred).
