DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee Azure infrastructure through Terraform, which includes reusable modules, environment settings, remote state management, and evaluated deployment strategies.

• Analyze configuration drift and ensure existing resources are maintained under version control.

• Create and debug CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Administer automated checks, manage artifacts, approvals, build agents, and service connections.

• Provide support for cloud data platforms, including Azure Databricks.

• Administer workspace configurations, compute resources, permissions, storage access, and deployment settings.

• Deploy and sustain serverless services, specifically Azure Functions.

• Assist with the configuration, access, capacity, and monitoring of Azure Event Hubs.

• Resolve networking and access challenges involving DNS, private endpoints, Entra ID, RBAC, and Key Vault.

• Maintain monitoring and alert systems.

• Investigate incidents utilizing logs and metrics, escalating complex issues with comprehensive findings.

• Support production releases and conduct recovery testing.

• Adhere to established change protocols and validate services post-deployment.

• Document outcomes and keep rollback instructions up-to-date for routine modifications.

• Develop operational scripts and runbooks.

• Automate repetitive tasks.

• Identify ways to minimize unnecessary cloud resource usage through sizing, scheduling, and cleanup.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and operations teams to ensure production and non-production environments are reliable, secure, and maintainable.

• Independently manage standard changes with peer review, seeking senior-engineer support for architectural decisions, complex incidents, and significant production alterations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related role, with hands-on experience in production settings.

• Proficient in Azure, encompassing compute, storage, networking, identity, and security fundamentals.

• Understanding of least-privilege access and secret management principles.

• Practical experience with Terraform, including modules, variables, remote state, and secure plan/apply workflows for existing infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Comfortable using Git and managing pull requests.

• Openness to working with both CI/CD platforms.

• Some experience in managing cloud data platforms, preferably Azure Databricks.

• Knowledge of compute management, permissions, and data access protocols.

• Familiarity with serverless operations, ideally with Azure Functions.

• Understanding of Azure Event Hubs concepts like partitions, consumer groups, and retention policies.

• Capability to automate tasks using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Skill in troubleshooting services utilizing Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

• Strong communication skills in English.

• Meticulous approach to production changes, exercising judgment to seek assistance when necessary.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks Unity Catalog or Asset Bundles, Docker, KQL, or cloud cost optimization.

• Experience with AI assistants for scripting and troubleshooting is a plus.

• Eligibility to work in the EU.
