This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria, +2 more countries.
• Ensure the reliable and secure operation of the current cplace Cloud 1.0 for our clients.
• Influence the design and operational framework of the Kubernetes-based cplace Cloud 2.0.
• Architect clusters, networking, storage solutions, tenant isolation, and scaling strategies.
• Strategize and oversee the migration of customer environments from Cloud 1.0.
• Create reusable Terraform modules, GitOps repositories, and platform software including self-service portals, APIs, and automation tools.
• Perform code reviews and establish automated testing and policy as code.
• Manage and enhance Linux servers, containers, SQL databases, and Elasticsearch systems.
• Address bugs, findings, and capacity challenges through incident management, problem resolution, and post-mortem analyses.
• Transform manual processes into version-controlled, tested code utilizing Ansible, Terraform, and n8n.
• Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities.
• Oversee backup and recovery processes, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity, including routine testing.
• Enforce security and compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Streamline cost-effectiveness and capacity management.
• Promote the use of AI in operational activities, including incident and log analysis, as well as automation of runbooks and routine tasks.
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure seamless releases.
• Serve as the technical representative of the team in customer meetings, tenders, and projects.
• Contribute to both internal and external documentation while mentoring others.
• Participate in on-call duties on a fair rotation basis.
• A degree in computer science or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent vocational training.
• Several years of experience as an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineer in critical production environments; ideally 5+ years.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production settings, covering operations, upgrades, troubleshooting, storage, and networking.
• Familiarity with at least one cloud provider; experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, and/or Hetzner Cloud is highly advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure as code, particularly with Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, GitOps, and collaborative Git-based workflows through pull requests and code reviews.
• Experience in writing modular, tested, and maintainable code.
• Strong Linux expertise.
• Familiarity with SQL databases such as MariaDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki/ELK.
• Solid software engineering skills, preferably in Go or Python.
• Proficient in Bash scripting.
• Good grasp of cloud security principles, including network segmentation, secrets management, and WAF.
• Practical experience with AI tools in engineering practices and an understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• A customer-oriented and organized approach to work.
• Capability to articulate technical subjects clearly.
• Fluent in both German and English.
• Participation in on-call duties on a fair rotation basis.
• Must reside in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, or Slovakia and be hired through EOR or a staffing partner.
