Development Project Manager – TFO Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct design, preconstruction, and construction efforts for designated projects.

• Handle multiple projects across various campuses, including managing budgets, timelines, and status reports.

• Develop and deliver monthly updates on the development program and project status for executive reviews.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to create master development programs, campus design strategies, and capital budgets.

• Manage entitlement and permitting processes.

• Implement and oversee multi-phased site development strategies and maintain campus master plans.

• Draft scopes of work and engage in procurement and project cost assessments.

• Analyze and evaluate pricing proposals.

• Coordinate the procurement and delivery of equipment with strategic purchasing.

• Facilitate submittals with site stakeholders.

• Track project budgets and current costs.

• Set project timelines and lead teams to ensure timely completion.

• Review monthly payment requests from contractors.

• Assess and negotiate contractor change order requests.

• Establish construction security protocols in collaboration with the site security team.

• Formulate and communicate product deployment strategies.

• Partner with Sales Engineers and Product teams to develop tailored solutions for clients.

• Act as a liaison with key QTS stakeholders and represent QTS during OAC meetings.

• Foster relationships to support QTS’s leadership in data center real estate.

• Assist in due diligence for prospective new sites.

• Improve project management processes and protocols within the internal development team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related professional field.

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures.

• Proven experience in managing Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from initial development through procurement to final closeout.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint for executive-level program updates and Excel for site program and project budgeting.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• An MBA, Master’s in Engineering, Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in delivering mission-critical data center facilities is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in managing MEP trades is preferred.
