Development Manager – Executive Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a team of engineers by offering technical guidance, mentorship, and consistent feedback.

• Take responsibility for delivery outcomes within the defined scope, provide realistic estimates, and clearly present capacity and priority trade-offs.

• Collaborate with Product Management and the EVP to set priorities and convert customer requirements into executive reporting capabilities.

• Supervise the design, development, and operation of historical patch and vulnerability reporting, the Enterprise Reports Engine, dashboard services, data aggregation, reporting metrics, report generation, scheduling, and export workflows.

• Steer technical decisions from solution design through development and production deployment, ensuring coordination of cross-cutting architecture and security considerations.

• Define metrics, reporting intervals, data freshness, and identify missing data.

• Coordinate with Product Value and core engineering teams regarding source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infrastructure.

• Manage automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.

• Enhance reporting accuracy, query performance, reliability, and observability as the volume of customer data increases.

• Utilize AI technologies to improve reporting development, validation, or interpretation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading software engineers and managing the delivery and operation of production systems.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles with the ability to contribute to technical problem-solving.

• Excellent proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Experience in building and operating AWS services in production environments.

• Practical experience with reporting platforms, analytics services, or data-intensive applications.

• Expertise in SQL along with experience in data modeling, aggregation, and query performance optimization.

• Understanding of historical data, metric consistency, and data quality validation processes.

• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to align engineering tasks with product priorities.

• Professional working proficiency in English to lead an English-speaking team and collaborate across various functions.

• Nice to have: Experience in writing automated tests for data pipelines, reporting calculations, and report generation.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with dashboard engines, scheduled reporting, and handling large data exports.

• Nice to have: Background in patch management or vulnerability reporting.

• Nice to have: Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for sensitive execution.

• Nice to have: Background in B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance.

• Nice to have: Proven experience in building high-load products that accommodate large numbers of endpoints.
