Development Manager – Configuration Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture a team of engineers, offering technical guidance, mentoring, and consistent feedback.

• Take ownership of delivery outcomes within the defined scope, providing realistic estimates and making visible capacity and priority trade-offs.

• Collaborate with Product Management and EVP to set priorities and translate customer requirements into executive reporting functionalities.

• Supervise the design, development, and upkeep of configuration management features, such as configuration policies, templates, reusable settings, and baselines based on CIS Benchmarks.

• Evaluate endpoint configurations against supported baselines and report any deviations.

• Manage endpoint targeting, grouping, and policy assignments.

• Facilitate configuration discovery and comparison with the desired state.

• Identify and rectify configuration drift.

• Validate, stage, deploy, and rollback configuration changes as applicable.

• Maintain status reporting on configurations, change history, and audit logs.

• Guide technical decisions from solution design through development and into production rollout, ensuring coordination of cross-cutting architecture and security decisions.

• Establish definitions for metrics, reporting periods, data freshness, and missing data.

• Collaborate with Product Value and core engineering teams regarding source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infrastructure.

• Manage automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.

• Utilize AI technologies where they enhance development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading software engineers and taking responsibility for the delivery and operation of production systems.

• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, with the ability to guide architecture and contribute to technical problem-solving.

• Excellent proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.

• Experience in building and operating AWS services in a production environment.

• Practical experience with endpoint management, configuration automation, or systems that enforce a desired state.

• Understanding of operating system configuration, policy evaluation, idempotent operations, and safe change execution.

• Experience designing systems that can handle intermittent connectivity and partial failures.

• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to align engineering efforts with product priorities.

• Professional proficiency in English for leading an English-speaking team and collaborating across various functions.

• Experience in writing automated tests for configuration changes and remediation workflows.

• Proficiency in SQL.

• Familiarity with PowerShell and Windows administration.

• Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for sensitive execution.

• Background in B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance.

• Experience in building high-load products with numerous endpoints.

• Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks, configuration baselines, policy versioning, and auditability.
