This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
β’ Oversee the creation of utility-scale solar and battery storage initiatives from inception to financial closure and commissioning.
β’ Formulate and implement project-specific development plans, timelines, budgets, and strategies for risk mitigation.
β’ Collaborate with teams across development, engineering, finance, legal, environmental, interconnection, and construction.
β’ Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, opportunities, and critical path components.
β’ Prepare and deliver project proposals, development updates, and investment documentation to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
β’ Spearhead site origination activities, including identifying and assessing greenfield projects.
β’ Negotiate land agreements, easements, amendments, and various project-related real estate documents.
β’ Cultivate landowner relationships and assist with long-term stakeholder engagement initiatives.
β’ Supervise real estate due diligence, including title examinations, surveys, and property risk assessments.
β’ Manage interconnection processes and liaise with utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
β’ Monitor interconnection benchmarks, risks, and expenses.
β’ Assess interconnection possibilities and limitations.
β’ Assist in negotiations and coordination concerning utility requirements and project execution.
β’ Lead permitting processes with internal environmental experts and external consulting teams.
β’ Develop and sustain relationships with landowners, local authorities, community stakeholders, utilities, and industry collaborators.
β’ Represent the organization at public meetings, stakeholder events, and project discussions.
β’ Aid in community outreach initiatives.
β’ Act as the primary project lead ensuring alignment and accountability among stakeholders.
β’ Coordinate consultant teams and oversee development-related scopes of work.
β’ Ensure development efforts are consistent with project timelines, budgets, and commercial goals.
β’ Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and financial assessments.
β’ Analyze project economics and development-related business decisions.
β’ Prepare documentation to support project approvals and investment choices.
β’ Monitor development spending and consultant budgets.
β’ Minimum of 3 years of experience with a renewable energy developer managing utility-scale development projects.
β’ Proven track record of advancing renewable energy projects through crucial development phases.
β’ Experience leading development activities related to real estate, interconnection, project execution, stakeholder engagement, or project strategy.
β’ Demonstrated capability to independently manage intricate projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
β’ Experience in negotiating agreements and maintaining relationships with landowners, utilities, consultants, and external stakeholders.
β’ Strong grasp of utility-scale renewable energy development processes and project economics.
β’ Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
β’ Willingness to travel throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, or Colorado as necessary (approximately 10β20%).
β’ Occasional travel to company offices in Boston or San Francisco.
β’ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
β’ Experience in developing utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with the western US and state or federal land is a plus.
β’ Experience in interconnection strategy and utility coordination is preferred.
β’ Experience in negotiating land agreements and managing real estate processes is preferred.
β’ Experience presenting projects to executive leadership, investment committees, or similar decision-making bodies is preferred.
β’ Background in financial modeling, project finance, or budgeting is preferred.
