Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily R&D operations for the development, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Offer technical guidance and coordinate DevOps initiatives.

• Enhance build and testing methodologies through automated testing and AI-assisted software development.

• Increase automated test coverage while minimizing manual regression efforts.

• Implement coding assistants, AI-assisted code reviews, documentation, legacy migration, and AI-generated tests.

• Set up safeguards for secure AI-generated code, ensuring human accountability, security reviews, and compliance with licensing and IP standards.

• Define and track delivery cycle times, escaped defects, automated coverage, and regression runtimes.

• Lead, mentor, and inspire developers, QA, and DevOps personnel.

• Drive recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes.

• Foster engineer development through code reviews, pair programming, and design discussions.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to clarify requirements, estimate tasks, and plan sprints.

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, bi-weekly user story grooming, and sprint closing and planning meetings.

• Coordinate development and DevOps contributions to customer-funded consulting and implementation projects.

• Monitor sprint results and delivery metrics.

• Organize software releases and provide or facilitate cost estimations.

• Write code, review pull requests, and troubleshoot production issues.

• Lead technical discussions and make or approve daily technical decisions.

• Coordinate hosting, deployment, and release requirements with DevOps engineers.

• Diagnose product and infrastructure challenges and enforce secure engineering practices.

• Assess and lead the modernization of tools, platforms, and integrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of experience in professional software development.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining commercial web-based business applications.

• Background as a technical lead, senior developer with team coordination duties, or development manager.

• Strong proficiency in web-based C# and .NET, encompassing both traditional and modern frameworks.

• Experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework.

• Understanding of containerized software hosting and SaaS delivery models.

• Experience in integrating with external systems.

• Production experience with React, Blazor, or ASP.NET MVC.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and microservices architecture.

• Working knowledge of containerized, cloud-based deployment utilizing Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of layered/3-tier application design principles.

• Experience with MS SQL/Azure SQL and MongoDB.

• Practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD, and test automation practices.

• Automated tests integrated within the development pipeline.

• Demonstrated application of AI-assisted development within a team setting.

• Capability to lead development, QA, and DevOps teams both onshore and offshore.

• Strong sense of ownership, effective communication, structured working style, and sound engineering judgment.
