Developer Success Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of technical support for developers utilizing AgentMail.

• Troubleshoot API requests, webhooks, product-related issues, and integrations.

• Reproduce problems and assess whether they stem from expected behavior, developer mistakes, documentation inadequacies, or product bugs.

• Resolve the majority of issues independently without needing to involve other engineers.

• Isolate malfunctioning features and deliver high-quality reproductions to engineering or directly fix issues through pull requests.

• Recognize recurring inquiries and challenges in support interactions and communicate patterns to the team.

• Detect inconsistencies and confusing behaviors across the API, documentation, and overall developer experience.

• Participate in calls with developers when asynchronous debugging proves inadequate.

• Craft clear and technically accurate responses for developers.

• Conduct in-depth investigations into technical issues and translate customer insights into product development signals.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience in technical support, developer experience, solutions engineering, or engineering roles.

• Preferably experience with a developer-oriented or API-first product.

• Proficient in reading API documentation, inspecting requests and responses, managing logs, and reproducing technical issues.

• Capability to differentiate between bugs, expected behavior, and incorrect API usage without escalating to engineering right away.

• Ability to write code for troubleshooting issues and implement minor fixes.

• Excellent written communication skills that are clear and concise.

• Resourceful with the ability to independently investigate unfamiliar issues.

• Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of customer frustration or confusion.

• Skill in identifying recurring patterns and underlying issues.
