This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
β’ Oversee insurer design compliance for a range of new data center projects.
β’ Evaluate potential sites and developer designs in relation to insurer requirements during the pre-lease due diligence phase.
β’ Assist the transaction team with insurer requirements, lease documentation, and performance specifications.
β’ Manage open insurer review issues until resolution with developers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
β’ Facilitate coordination among the client design team, insurer, and developer to ensure insurer design compliance.
β’ Maintain compliance tracking matrices for projects, including open items, evidence, responsible parties, status, and schedule impact.
β’ Analyze developer design submissions and insurer plan review letters to pinpoint non-compliance issues and outstanding evidence.
β’ Organize and lead collaborative sessions with design and trade partners.
β’ Participate in regular insurer coordination meetings and provide updates on portfolio status.
β’ Create weekly status reports detailing blocking items, progress, actions, and impacts on milestones.
β’ Convey insurer requirements and provide guidance on acceptable compliance methods.
β’ Prepare and assist with deviation or exemption requests, including related evidence and impact assessments.
β’ Monitor insurer review timelines and escalate any delays that affect scheduling.
β’ Develop checklists, standard requirement packages, and template documentation.
β’ Simultaneously manage multiple fast-paced projects.
β’ Comply with SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
β’ At least 8 years of experience in design management, design coordination, or technical project management within the construction sector.
β’ Preferred experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
β’ Consideration will be given to experience with other complex or heavily regulated building types.
β’ Working knowledge of architectural, structural, and fire protection design is essential.
β’ Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems adequate for cross-discipline coordination.
β’ Understanding of US building and fire codes is required.
β’ Experience with insurer-led or third-party design approval processes is preferred.
β’ Capability to track and resolve technical items across multiple simultaneous projects.
β’ Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
β’ Ability to summarize technical status for senior stakeholders effectively.
β’ Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
β’ US PST time zone coverage is required.
β’ Occasional travel to project sites may be necessary.
