This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Provide comprehensive leadership for projects during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial outcomes, scheduling, estimation, design, and planning.
• Guide project teams to achieve alignment on scope and budget, schedules, integrated team experiences, construction readiness, and financial performance.
• Develop and manage project budgets, scope expectations, budget trending logs, communication strategies, and resource allocation.
• Create and oversee project schedules and key milestones; ensure accountability among team members.
• Secure necessary regulatory approvals and permits.
• Ensure that design documents align with project execution plans.
• Manage bid packages and contract manuals effectively.
• Identify and address technical design and specification issues.
• Formulate project margin strategies.
• Serve as the primary liaison with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners throughout the design phase.
• Monitor and evaluate success factors for customers, design partners, and Mortenson teams.
• Promote integrated team experiences through effective communication and collaboration.
• Manage, mentor, and guide team members during the design phase to provide clear direction and support career development.
• Cultivate relationships with individuals from various backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Lead by example, offer coaching and constructive feedback, and manage performance effectively.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field.
• At least eight (8) years of relevant experience.
• Strong orientation towards teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Attention to detail necessary for organizing and managing multiple project tasks.
• Fundamental understanding of construction law and commonly accepted business practices.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant web applications.
• Demonstrated positive and professional demeanor, along with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret Mortenson policies effectively.
• Active listening skills and effective communication, with openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
