DBA, Reliability and Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee large-scale PostgreSQL instances and execute performance tuning tasks, including vacuuming, indexing strategies, and query plan analysis.

• Manage high-availability configurations for PostgreSQL, specifically using tools like Patroni and Repmgr.

• Design, deploy, and maintain MongoDB replica sets.

• Enhance MongoDB aggregation pipelines while ensuring data consistency and scalability.

• Administer Redis deployments to meet caching and real-time data requirements.

• Implement Redis Sentinel or Cluster for ensuring high availability.

• Provide guidance to development teams on best practices for Redis data structures.

• Oversee database migrations, version upgrades, patching, and backups across various platforms.

• Utilize Dynatrace for monitoring database health, creating custom dashboards, and configuring intelligent alerting.

• Leverage AI-driven observability insights to pinpoint bottlenecks, deadlocks, and slow-running queries.

• Analyze trends in data growth and resource utilization for effective capacity planning.

• Automate the provisioning and configuration of databases using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Incorporate database schema changes and deployments into automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Develop scripts in Python, Bash, or Go for routine maintenance and self-healing functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent qualification.

• Over 5 years of experience with advanced PostgreSQL, covering MVCC, WAL, and extension management.

• At least 3 years of experience managing production MongoDB environments, focusing on sharding and security hardening.

• Demonstrated experience in managing Redis at scale, including persistence settings, memory management, and eviction policies.

• Practical experience with Dynatrace or comparable APM tools like Datadog or New Relic.

• Proficient in Ansible or Terraform.

• Strong scripting capabilities in Python or Bash.

• Expert-level proficiency with Linux/Unix command-line interfaces.

• Knowledgeable in system-level performance tuning, including kernel parameters and I/O scheduling.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and databases within orchestrated environments.

• Relevant certifications such as PostgreSQL Professional, MongoDB Certified DBA, or Dynatrace Associate are advantageous.

• Experience with Cloud SQL or MongoDB Atlas is a plus.
