DBA, MySQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

• Oversee all databases within the organization, encompassing development, staging, and production environments.

• Manage administrative aspects such as security, failover/replication, and performance optimization.

• Address design considerations, including table structures, indexing, and the design of queries and stored procedures.

• Integrate products, workflows, best practices, and architectural standards.

• Conduct thorough reviews of specification documents to pinpoint special cases and scenarios.

• Collaborate effectively with development, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Establish yourself as the organization's database authority.

• Provide training to developers and QA personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years specifically as a MySQL DBA.

• Practical experience with DBA tasks such as failover, security, optimization, and backup.

• Proven hands-on experience in database design, testing, and maintenance.

• Ability to work independently as a sole DBA within the organization.

• Familiarity with a scripting language such as Python or Bash.

• Strong issue resolution skills along with the ability to analyze and detect root causes.

• Essential: Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

• Preferred: Experience in C++, particularly with making calls to MySQL.

• Preferred: Background in finance, including knowledge of FIX protocol and FX trading.

• Preferred: Experience with tools such as Jira, SVN, and Jenkins.
