Database Product Architect – IT Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design and advancement of Jabil's database platforms, encompassing relational, NoSQL, and data warehousing technologies.

• Establish and uphold database standards, best practices, and governance policies throughout the organization.

• Assess and suggest new database technologies and tools to align with evolving business requirements and enhance performance.

• Work in partnership with development teams, system administrators, and fellow architects to integrate database solutions within Jabil's IT ecosystem.

• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of database environments.

• Create and sustain documentation for database architecture, design, and operational processes.

• Offer expert guidance and mentorship to database administrators and developers on intricate database challenges.

• Ensure adherence to data security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

• Diagnose and resolve complex database-related problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in database architecture, design, and administration, with a strong emphasis on large-scale enterprise environments.

• Extensive expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or comparable database technologies.

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database.

• Familiarity with cloud-native database architectures.

• Strong comprehension of data modeling, schema design, and database normalization/denormalization techniques.

• Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring tools.

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and business intelligence platforms.

• Knowledge of Python or PowerShell for database automation.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, global environment.

• Proficiency in English is essential.
