Database Practice Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a detailed strategy for a data consulting practice at Fresche India GCC.

• Mentor, lead, and expand a team of data consultants, architects, and engineers located in India.

• Manage client relationships and provide expert advice on database architecture, migration, performance optimization, and modernization.

• Spearhead pre-sales initiatives, including crafting solutions, developing proposals, and delivering technical presentations.

• Supervise the execution of data consulting projects across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Offer architectural direction for various databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and cloud infrastructures.

• Recognize and create new service offerings and innovative solutions to address emerging data challenges.

• Collaborate with sales, delivery, product, and technology partner teams.

• Evaluate utilization, revenue, margins, and client satisfaction to enhance growth and profitability.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in database management.

• Advocate for the integration of AI and automation within data consulting services.

• Establish and maintain relationships with technology partners such as Oracle, Microsoft, and AWS.

• Lead recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives for the consulting team in India.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 20 years of demonstrated experience in database consulting, database architecture, or comparable technical roles.

• Extensive experience in delivering solutions within the Indian market.

• Minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role within a practice.

• Profound hands-on knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

• Proficiency in cloud database services, including AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, and GCP Cloud SQL.

• Strong grasp of AI and automation in database management, monitoring, and optimization processes.

• Proven history of establishing and growing consulting practices, driving revenue growth, and achieving successful client engagements in India.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in managing and mentoring a technical consulting team.

• Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong understanding of the Indian enterprise technology landscape, industry sectors, and client purchasing behavior.

• A growth-oriented mindset with a passion for technical innovation, continuous learning, and mentoring.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Preferred certifications in Oracle, Microsoft, or AWS.

• An MBA is a plus.
