Database Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Administration and management of databases within critical production settings.

• Oversight of performance, availability, and capacity metrics.

• Advanced troubleshooting in highly intricate scenarios.

• Administration of backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery processes.

• Optimization of performance and tuning of queries.

• Management of security protocols, user access, and permissions.

• Analysis of logs, sessions, and overall database behavior.

• Collaboration with application, middleware, and infrastructure teams.

• Execution of controlled modifications and operational tasks.

• Documentation of processes, incidents, and solutions (including runbooks and knowledge base articles).

• Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Advanced management of Oracle Database.

• Experience in on-premises and/or cloud environments (OCI).

• Additional responsibilities as related to the role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in IT operations or database administration.

• Proven experience managing incidents in production environments.

• Experience with platforms that handle high transaction volumes.

• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix, including administration, troubleshooting, log analysis, and process management.

• Familiarity with Oracle Database, Redis, and/or MongoDB, depending on specific responsibilities.

• Knowledge of SQL tuning and optimization techniques.

• Understanding of high availability, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace, Grafana, and Prometheus.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow and ITIL, particularly in incident, problem, and change management.

• Experience in critical and highly available environments.

• Technical expertise in Oracle technologies: Data Guard, RAC, RMAN, Exadata, AWR, ADDM, and wait-event analysis.

• Technical knowledge of Redis, including replication, clustering, memory tuning, and troubleshooting in distributed settings.

• Technical expertise in MongoDB, covering clusters, sharding, replica sets, performance, and high availability.

• Technical knowledge of SQL Server, including administration, operations, performance tuning, troubleshooting, availability, and recovery.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, IBM Db2, and Hazelcast.

• Completed bachelor’s degree.

• Intermediate proficiency in Spanish for conversational purposes.
