Database Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and manage database environments that support military healthcare applications.

• Oversee performance monitoring, troubleshoot database issues, and enhance resource utilization.

• Execute and verify backup, recovery, and high-availability functionalities.

• Administer approved database modifications, access controls, and data migration processes.

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams.

• Maintain documentation for database configuration and recovery.

• Provide support for extensive, highly available DoD healthcare databases that serve the global MEDEX/MEDXS mission.

• Ensure technical and OCONUS readiness as designated Key Personnel by the Government.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing large-scale, highly available DoD healthcare databases.

• Competence in supporting database performance, availability, data integrity, and recovery processes.

• Demonstrated experience in overseeing personnel deployments.

• Familiarity with the Synchronized Pre-deployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT).

• Experience in coordinating host-nation theater clearance and DOCPER requirements across various OCONUS areas of responsibility.

• Active Secret clearance required.

• A valid U.S. passport with a minimum of 18 months validity remaining on the first day of contract performance.

• Assigned DCWF role: 421, Database Administrator, Intermediate.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

• Certifications such as Cloud+, GSEC, Sec+, or SSCP are required.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Must meet the applicable DoDM 8140.03 foundational qualifications before independently performing duties requiring privileged access or covered cybersecurity functions.

• Must be OCONUS ready on the first day of performance and maintain continuity throughout the assignment.
