Database & Backup Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily database operations for a prominent North American automotive enterprise client.

• Manage and uphold RDS, Aurora, and self-hosted databases.

• Supervise backup and recovery processes.

• Ensure that backups are restorable.

• Implement disaster-recovery runbooks during critical situations.

• Collaborate with OS/middleware, EKS, network/security, and CCoE architecture teams.

• Address escalations from the 24x7 monitoring team based in Vietnam.

• Assist the client in evolving from standard MSP to Advanced MSP with a Cloud Center of Excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing databases and backup/recovery within AWS ecosystems.

• Proficiency with RDS, Aurora, and self-managed databases.

• Capability to verify successful backup restorations.

• Competence in executing disaster-recovery runbooks.

• Skill in collaborating with OS/middleware, EKS, network/security, and CCoE architecture teams.

• Ability to work with a 24x7 monitoring team and manage escalations effectively.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
