Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist with database administration tasks, which involve creating and implementing changes and enhancements to forms, menus, reports, and database applications.

• Oversee the maintenance of enterprise data environments and databases, which includes managing ETL/ELT pipelines, feature stores, ontologies, lineage repositories, and analytical outputs.

• Conduct integrity checks on databases, perform performance tuning, and provide support for backup, recovery, replication, and high availability.

• Establish processes for data standardization, validation, and cleansing throughout the stages of design, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency with Databricks, particularly with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog (including permissions, ABAC/RBAC).

• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, and AWS Backup.

• Understanding of database performance tuning, as well as backup, recovery, replication, and high availability practices.

• Experience in schema design, data migration, and the upkeep of ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora/RDS, and DynamoDB.
