Data Scientist II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Business Unit Lead and merchant portfolio to pinpoint gaps in decision-making performance and execute solutions, guided by senior team members.

• Leverage existing or create new production machine learning models that detect fraud, working alongside data scientists and machine learning engineers.

• Identify and develop automation to minimize repetitive manual tasks.

• Conduct experiments to determine the most effective decision-making strategies while balancing complexity and performance.

• Convey complex concepts to Customer Success, Sales, and occasionally to external clients.

• Write both production and offline analytical code in Python.

• Work with distributed data pipelines utilizing Spark, Databricks, and GCP.

• Participate in peer reviews, paper studies, knowledge sharing, live demonstrations, write-ups, and cross-team collaborations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science or a related analytical discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience post-undergraduation.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• A solid foundation in machine learning and statistics.

• Ability to write and review code collaboratively in a shared Python codebase.

• Practical knowledge of SQL.

• Design experiments and gather data effectively.

• Experience with distributed analytics and data tools like Spark and Databricks.

• Availability for on-call shifts as part of the weekend rotation, currently about six weekends annually.
