Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation of statistical and machine learning models for the FALCON initiative.

• Develop models to identify kinematic behaviors using both live and historical data.

• Conduct simulations to guide the development of methods for integrating analytics into the system.

• Provide support for the research, development, and maintenance of mission-critical software applications, backend services, APIs, data workflows, and analytical capabilities.

• Design and enhance software applications while maintaining and improving custom solutions.

• Diagnose defects and enhance system performance.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.

• Lead teams in crafting analytic solutions that address customer requirements.

• Improve analytic solutions for quality and performance enhancements.

• Combine data from various sources to establish a unified operating view.

• Choose and apply statistical analyses and scoring metrics to assess algorithm performance.

• Generate training and testing datasets from diverse sources.

• Execute data cleansing, validation, and ETL processes.

• Create analytic reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Implement data visualization techniques for analysis, presentations, and end-user UI requirements.

• Conduct feature engineering, optimize classifiers, forecast events, and detect anomalies.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to clarify data science mission requirements.

• Document processes, results, and methodologies in data science.

• Select and utilize machine learning algorithms to enhance or compete with existing solutions.

• Work alongside software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders in an agile, remote-first setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a citizen of the United States.

• Hold a current Top Secret security clearance and/or possess CBP/DHS suitability.

• Proficient in Python and familiar with libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and scipy.

• Experience in processing, cleaning, and analyzing time series and/or geospatial data.

• Strong foundation in statistics, including statistical testing, regression, and probability.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience applying machine learning techniques to time series and/or geospatial data.

• At least 3 years of professional experience with database systems or data file systems like PostgreSQL and HDFS.

• A minimum of 3 years working with version control systems such as Git.

• Over 3 years of professional experience focused on time series event forecasting.

• Capability to comprehend and integrate new machine learning algorithms and technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, along with over 5 years of industry experience in data science.

• Experience in scoring and assessing algorithm performance.

• Proficient in visualizing multi-source, multi-dimensional data and analytic results in real-time and during presentations.

• Experience in conducting model feasibility studies and developing machine learning algorithms.

• Extensive experience with various machine learning algorithms and methodologies.

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends with the ability to communicate these clearly and confidently.

• Experience collaborating in teams using Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Preferred: Master’s degree.

• Preferred: Familiarity with deep learning technologies such as PyTorch, Keras, and TensorFlow.

• Preferred: Experience working with radar data.

• Preferred: Knowledge of data correlation techniques.
