This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Assist in the development, testing, and enhancement of forecasting and analytics models for ammunition consumption and resupply.
β’ Maintain and improve Vantage-based analytics, dashboards, and data products, including the integration of new data sources.
β’ Aid in the integration and validation of data into Vantage pipelines to centralize munitions data.
β’ Perform descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics on historical ammunition consumption and unit forecast data.
β’ Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for enhancement.
β’ Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions with logisticians, ammunition subject matter experts (SMEs), and government stakeholders.
β’ Define analytical use cases, data requirements, and enhancements for models.
β’ Create and sustain reproducible analytical workflows utilizing Python, SQL, and related tools.
β’ Document model logic, assumptions, and constraints.
β’ Assist in monitoring the performance of models and key metrics.
β’ Prepare visualizations and summary analyses to aid leadership decision-making, including monthly status reports and briefings.
β’ Support project backlog management by drafting and updating user stories and technical tasks related to data science initiatives.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, business analytics, or a related field.
β’ 2β5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related area.
β’ Proven experience with Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, numpy) and SQL for data preparation, analysis, and basic modeling.
β’ Experience in building and validating regression, time series, or classification models.
β’ Experience working with large, structured datasets in relational databases or data warehouses.
β’ Strong quantitative and critical thinking abilities; capable of translating ambiguous business inquiries into analytical problems and solutions.
β’ Ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
β’ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adept at working in an Agile environment with changing priorities.
β’ Active or attainable SECRET clearance; only U.S. Citizens can obtain a clearance.
β’ Experience supporting an enterprise data analytics platform (e.g., Army Vantage, Army Data Platform, or similar) is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with Army logistics processes, ammunition management, or supply chain analytics is preferred.
β’ Experience with dashboarding/BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Vantage-native visualization tools) is preferred.
β’ Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.
β’ Exposure to ML model monitoring and MLOps concepts is preferred.
