Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Train, assess, and refine machine learning models focused on customer feedback tasks.

• Assist in developing custom fine-tuning pipelines and conduct meticulously documented experiments.

• Create and sustain LLM-driven features, which encompass retrieval pipelines, reranking systems, and insight generation.

• Enhance evaluation frameworks by constructing test sets, establishing metrics, and evaluating model performance.

• Engage in semantic search and retrieval utilizing embedding-based methods and other techniques.

• Produce clean, thoroughly tested code.

• Collaborate with the Engineering team on model integration, data pipelines, and monitoring processes.

• Interpret business and product needs into actionable ML experiments and solutions.

• Keep up with relevant research and introduce valuable ideas during team discussions and experiments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of transformer architectures and their use in NLP tasks.

• Expertise in PyTorch, including familiarity with training loops and standard model fine-tuning processes.

• Experience working with real-world text data across classification, extraction, embeddings, or search at significant scale.

• Exposure to instruction fine-tuning or model deployment.

• Understanding of classical machine learning and statistics.

• Knowledge of GenAI and agentic patterns.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical work across different functions.

• A curious mindset about AI and a penchant for experimentation.

• Strong sense of ownership.

• Position located in the UK.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related STEM field is considered a plus.
