Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Utilize statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization algorithms to either create or enhance data products.

• Construct data pipelines and develop machine learning models.

• Conduct advanced analytics and statistical analyses.

• Develop, assess, and refine machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Generative AI models.

• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to establish insight requirements, business objectives, learning agendas, KPIs, and diagnostics.

• Work alongside data scientists and team leads to outline project specifications, data sources, algorithms, and implementation strategies.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of data sources for audience segmentation, including survey/panel data, third-party sources, media-content activity, and transaction data.

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to transition development projects into production environments.

• Prepare and deliver analytical presentations to marketing and business audiences.

• Effectively communicate complex concepts.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to data scientists as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced experience with Adobe analytics tools, particularly Adobe Journey Analytics.

• Familiarity with third-party SaaS tools, such as Databricks and R.

• Proficient in applying statistics and data science tools to large datasets.

• Extensive understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, including neural networks/deep learning, SVM, decision trees, clustering, regression, and dimensionality reduction.

• Specialization in Generative AI.

• Expertise in model training, hyperparameter optimization, learning-rate tuning, and model evaluation.

• Significant experience in preparing data for modeling, including normalization and scaling techniques.

• Proficient in Python/R, APIs, Excel, LLMs, SQL, and Power Automate.

• Exposure to Spark/PySpark within distributed computing frameworks.

• Mastery of SQL for effective coding over large datasets.

• Experience managing both structured and unstructured data.

• Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of deploying innovative SaaS solutions in the technology sector.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field or a related area with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree in a quantitative field along with relevant work experience.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing machine learning models within a business context.

• Proven capability to handle complex datasets and conduct sophisticated data analyses.

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.

• Experience working with APIs and integrating them into data solutions.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.

• Familiarity with Large Language Models and their applications.

• Robust SQL skills for database management and data manipulation.

• Excellent problem-solving, creative thinking, and critical data analysis abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively in a team environment and mentor junior data scientists.

• Self-motivated with a commitment to staying abreast of developments in data science and machine learning.
