Data Science Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the data science team across various domains, including product, marketing, and performance.

• Report directly to the Head of Data.

• Take ownership of team deliverables across different verticals while shaping and prioritizing the data science roadmap.

• Convert stakeholder requirements into team priorities and effectively communicate trade-offs and outcomes to non-technical audiences.

• Assess modeling techniques, experimental design, and causal inference initiatives.

• Collaborate, deliver, or adjust directly when coverage or quality falls short.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop data scientists.

• Manage the hiring process and conduct one-on-one meetings.

• Work alongside the Head of Data on performance metrics, compensation, and career advancement strategies.

• Foster rigorous A/B testing, quasi-experimental methodologies, and causal reasoning across product and performance initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in data science with a proven history of delivering models, experiments, or analyses leveraged by other teams.

• Demonstrated expertise in at least one specific area: Recommendation Systems, Experimental Design and Causal Inference, Customer Segmentation, Churn Prediction, Fraud/Anomaly Detection, or CRM analytics.

• Strong understanding of statistical methods, both supervised and unsupervised machine learning, along with causal inference techniques.

• Proven experience in leading others as a technical lead, mentor, or interview panel member.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Capability to provide accurate technical feedback and communicate effectively with senior non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure is advantageous.

• Educational background is not a constraint for joining the company.
