Data Science Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of technical professionals specializing in data science and analytics engineering.

• Define the strategy for measurement and innovation regarding asset creation and content comprehension.

• Balance the priorities of various stakeholders to achieve sustainable business results.

• Own the complete outcomes related to measurement and insights.

• Ensure the delivery of timely, decision-ready work that informs product direction and development.

• Collaborate with other departments to clarify problems, identify trade-offs, and establish a shared understanding of content distribution.

• Set the vision, direction, priorities, and operational standards for the team.

• Foster thought partnership, maintain high-quality execution, and ensure lasting impact.

• Serve as a role model for Netflix values, demonstrating sound judgment, transparency, and accountability.

• Proven experience in leading data science, analytics, or similar technical teams within product-centric environments, with responsibility for establishing direction and achieving results.

• Strong analytical judgment combined with structured thinking capabilities.

• Capacity to transform complex data and unclear challenges into precise insights, recommendations, and decisions.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.

• Skill in influencing partners through clear problem framing, trade-off articulation, and compelling data narratives.

• History of performing effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced settings with minimal processes or oversight.

• Proven ability to develop and/or mentor senior individual contributors into trusted thought leaders.

• Ideally, experience working with stakeholders across different time zones and successfully establishing enduring collaborative practices.
