Data Quality Assurance Specialist – Laboratory Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Establish data quality standards, acceptance criteria, validation methods, and testing scenarios.

• Assist in the comprehensive onboarding and validation of scientific data and ASM converters.

• Facilitate requirement-gathering and discovery meetings with Scientists, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and business stakeholders.

• Examine laboratory instrument data and identify essential scientific data fields.

• Develop and assess source-to-target mappings along with data transformation specifications.

• Work in partnership with Semantic Engineers to align data with the Allotrope Ontology and ASM schemas.

• Verify converter outputs to ensure the preservation of scientific meaning and data integrity.

• Execute and oversee source-to-target validations, data transformation verifications, data quality assessments, traceability testing, semantic mapping validations, and converter output evaluations.

• Analyze test outcomes, validation documentation, defects, and data quality metrics.

• Assist in defect triage, root-cause identification, risk evaluation, and corrective actions.

• Maintain traceability among requirements, mappings, testing scenarios, and validation documentation.

• Aid in the assessment of release readiness and approval workflows.

• Draft and review Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and validation documentation.

• Oversee risks, issues, dependencies, and obstacles to delivery.

• Coordinate tasks across Scientific, Data Engineering, Quality, Product, Architecture, and vendor teams.

• Promote ongoing enhancements of data quality processes, validation techniques, and reusable testing resources.

• Ensure compliance with data governance, SDLC, quality, and regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Biotechnology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, Data Management, Data Quality, or similar data-centric roles.

• Profound understanding of data quality, data validation, data modeling, data mapping, data transformation, source-to-target mapping, and data traceability.

• Proven experience in defining requirements, acceptance criteria, validation methods, and testing scenarios.

• Experience in validating intricate data transformations and integrations.

• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and data lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with data governance principles.

• Experience engaging with non-technical stakeholders to grasp business or scientific needs.

• Capability to convert business or scientific requirements into clear data and validation specifications.

• Experience in documenting and managing risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Product, Business, SMEs, and external vendors.

• Nice to have: experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or drug discovery settings.

• Nice to have: familiarity with scientific or laboratory data.

• Nice to have: understanding of laboratory workflows and laboratory instrument data.

• Nice to have: experience in data onboarding, integration, migration, transformation, or validation projects.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Allotrope Foundation standards.

• Nice to have: experience with Allotrope Simple Model (ASM).

• Nice to have: knowledge of ontologies, semantic models, or metadata management.

• Nice to have: experience with Jira, Confluence, VERA, Xray, Mural, or similar tools.
