Data Platform Engineer – Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and evaluate current CI/CD pipelines to identify if modifications to existing patterns are necessary.

• Enhance infrastructure-as-code in accordance with repository standards.

• Implement data engineering and governance protocols for new services, encompassing naming conventions, access control, and data retention policies.

• Develop self-service tools, which include a template repository integrated with CI, IaC, and governance features.

• Construct modules that streamline the creation of new pipelines to a single-command process.

• Produce documentation that addresses frequently asked questions, minimizing the need for engineering support.

• Manage the access-request process for data resources.

• Oversee the template repository and IaC modules, ensuring the roadmap and documentation are up-to-date.

• Collaborate with data engineering, backend, and infrastructure teams within the Data & AI division.

• Report directly to the Data Team Leader.

⛳️ Requirements

• Have independently managed a deployment path from start to finish, which includes writing the pipeline, resolving production issues, and documenting the runbook.

• Capable of reviewing unfamiliar code, explaining its functionality, and diagnosing potential problems.

• Approximately 2 years of relevant professional experience.

• Proficient in Python and SQL for daily tasks.

• Familiarity with Docker.

• Exposure to cloud environments; AWS should be a familiar concept.

• Comfortable working across data engineering, backend, and infrastructure domains.

• Ability to utilize AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, and justify the accuracy of the generated outputs.

• No frontend development experience necessary; this position does not focus on frontend tasks.

• No experience in ML research or model training is required.
