📋 Description

• Develop essential data platform capabilities, including services and APIs for data access, query execution, ingestion, and synchronization.

• Create reusable connector frameworks and abstractions for various systems and access patterns.

• Detect bottlenecks in querying and data movement; enhance performance through partitioning, parallelism, and effective memory and storage management.

• Establish orchestration, retries, checkpointing, and observability for dependable workload recovery and data integrity.

• Transition capabilities from design to production.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define interfaces and make architectural decisions.

• Manage the systems and capabilities developed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a background in building maintainable, tested production software.

• Experience in developing backend services, data infrastructure, or data platform components, beyond mere pipeline configuration.

• Strong understanding of relational databases, query optimization, data formats, and the trade-offs between querying data in situ and materializing it elsewhere.

• Familiarity with concurrent or distributed workloads, including failure management, resource handling, and performance debugging.

• Capability to delve into unfamiliar systems and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable designs.

• Experience with analytical query engines, lakehouse technologies, workflow orchestration, enterprise-system integrations, or containerized infrastructure.

• Background in building connector libraries, developer-facing APIs, or shared platforms utilized by other engineering teams.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), covering networking, storage, identity and access management (IAM), and infrastructure as code.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. for Tessera Labs.
