Data Modeler – ETL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement long-term strategic objectives for the data architecture vision and standards in collaboration with data users, clients, and other essential stakeholders.

• Direct initiatives related to data architecture, data modeling, and data movement for healthcare data warehouse analytics, encompassing Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial data.

• Collaborate across various subject areas including claims, provider, TPL, and member information.

• Develop comprehensive visions that convert logical designs into physical databases while defining data flows through multiple stages.

• Assess and convert business requirements into long-term solution data models.

• Review existing data systems and work alongside the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.

• Ensure compliance of data strategies and architectures with regulatory standards.

• Identify areas needing policy or procedural modifications and create new policies as required.

• Supervise the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics to ensure the integrity of data quality.

• Design and uphold data model and metadata policies and procedures for functional design.

• Offer technical guidance and collaborate with ETL Architects, Business SMEs, and stakeholders throughout the solution/data architecture and implementation lifecycle.

• Propose effective solutions for high-performance, scalable data marts, data warehouses, data mining, and advanced analytics.

• Tackle systems integration challenges, compatibility issues, and integration across multiple platforms.

• Create and implement components and testing criteria to ensure the fidelity and performance of the data architecture.

• Document the data architecture and enterprise environment to maintain a precise, scalable single source of truth.

• Engage with customers and project teams; appropriately escalate issues and risks.

• Excellent problem-solving, influencing, communication, and presentation skills; proactive self-starter.

• Proficiency in Data Modeling, Data Strategy, and Roadmap for large and complex health entities and systems.

• Experience in implementing large-scale, end-to-end Data Management & Analytics solutions for multiple major clients.

• In-depth understanding of regulatory security requirements related to HIPAA, PHI, PII, and other healthcare data security standards.

• Strong domain knowledge in the healthcare sector, particularly concerning Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare datasets.

• Expertise in normalized OLTP, OLAP, MDM, and Dimensional modeling techniques.

• Proficient in Star schemas, slowly changing dimensions, role-playing dimensions, dimensional hierarchies, and data classification.

• Advanced SQL skills, including complex analytic queries, stored procedures, DDL, DML, and DCL.

• Extensive knowledge of query optimization techniques.

• Capability to write code adhering to ANSI standards and review code written by other developers.

• Expertise in Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Governance, Data Security, Metadata Management, MDM, Data Archival, and Data Migration strategies utilizing appropriate tools.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Purview, and Azure Maps.

• Experience with Snowflake DBMS.

• Proficient in Power BI or Tableau.
